“In a display of solidarity and empathy, the Welsh Parliament hosted a commemorative session on the evening of December 20th, organized by the Syrian Welsh Society and Sponsored by Member of Parliament Peredur Griffiths. The session was held to honour the martyrs of the medical teams operating in the Gaza Strip.Marked by a strong humanitarian ethos and notable attendance from representatives of Wales’ three major political parties and medical professionals from the National Health Service (NHS), the event also drew participation from leaders in civil society and religious figures within the Welsh community.
Adding a cultural and personal touch to the proceedings, Italian-Palestinian writer Dr Sabrin Hasbun delivered a poignant poem, articulating her perspective as a Palestinian Christian from Jerusalem and lamenting the absence of joy in celebrating Christmas this year. She also dedicated a verse to the memory of poet martyr Rafat Al-Ara’ir, a personal acquaintance.”
